Hello x

Start of hormones
Hello everyone, sorry about the long absence, real life seems to have gotten in the way again!! I’ve been very busy getting on with my new life and enjoying being a bit of a social butterfly finally, but it means I have neglected all of my bloggy friends x 😦 There has been a lot of exciting things happening to me this last few weeks and hopefully I will share them with you at some point soon x
Start of hormones
I intend to try and be better (but I always say that) in future and remember to take photos and bake more for blogging purposes!! Promise x 🙂
Start of hormones
For now here are some photos I took a couple of days ago, I’ve been thinking about my own personal style quite a bit lately, as I have been venturing into the world more and more, I have been trying to  hone  my everyday look. And it occurred to me that I have stopped taking photos to journal my progress as I was doing in the past. The reason I started up this blog again was to have a sort of journal of my journey into womanhood and think I have been neglecting that part of blog a bit lately. So I think I need to try and be better at lifestyle posts again in future.

So what have you all been up too?
What have I missed?

Casa Angelina

This week, my friend Gayle and I got together to try out a new vintage tearoom on London street, Edinburgh called Casa Angelina to see what all the fuss was about!! And trust me there has been a lot of buzz since they opened only a few short weeks ago!! So I booked us a table for Thursday afternoon to try it out for ourselves and Wow!!!!! Just Wow!!!

Casa Angelina

Casa Angelina is run by Marie Claire and her partner (who’s name I didn’t catch) who are both highly trained  pâtissier/pâtissière’s!! Which you can instantly tell from the gorgeous array of desserts and pastries on offer x We savoured every mouthful for the couple of hours it took to get through all of our delights xx

Casa Angelina

The ambience in the tearoom was so lovely and relaxed with other tables chatting to each other and kids dressing up from a couple of trunks of pretty things left out for just such a purpose. Adding to this having Marie Claire checking on us regularly and bringing us fresh pots of tea (at no extra cost) we just felt so relaxed and kind of lost track of time for a few hours which was just heavenly xx

I can’t wait for my next visit, which is already booked by the way….heehee x

If you get the chance and have some time to indulge in a little luxurious girliness some afternoon then I recommend you get along to Casa Angelina without any hesitation xx

Rocky road fudge and meeting new people!

OK, So…………. I’ve taken a huge step this week in getting out in the world and living by my recent post for this to be Lucy’s year!!!

After much humming and haughing I’ve finally committed myself to attend my first cake event run by and for the Edinburgh Cake Ladies which is being held in March. I must admit it’s terrifying and exciting at the same time! Most probably because I’ve been trying to pluck up the courage to join one of their evenings for over a year now. Now all I have to do is stop myself  from pulling out if I get nervous………haha x

Only a few weeks ago I met my friend Sarah and her friend for lunch in town and I realised on my way there that it was going to be the first time meeting with someone as Lucy, that had never met Paul before and that felt like a huge day, now I’m signed up to meet 18 ladies at once and I’m up for the challenge x Wow, what a brave girl I’m becoming?!?! x ;p

So this event is called Tower of Terrific Traybakes Take Two or TTTTT for short!! Each of us has to bring a different traybake for everyone to try!! So I decided I would do my Rocky Road Fudge as my contribution!! Which obviously meant I had to have a practice run to see if it would be up to scratch for this event…….heehee x

And here are the results x

Rocky road fudge

  • 1.4kg caster sugar
  • 500ml whole milk
  • 150g unsalted butter, cut in to cubes
  • 75g walnuts
  • 700g dark chocolate , cut in to small pieces
  • 10ml vanilla extract
  • 1.5ml salt
  • 90g black cherries in syrup, sliced in half
  • 130g marshmallows, cut in to pieces, or use mini marshmallows

Rocky road 2

  1. Line a loaf tin with clingfilm so that it comes out of the tin and well over the sides.
  2. Put the sugar, milk and butter in a medium, heavy pan. Heat over a moderate heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Chop the walnuts roughly and set aside.
  4. When the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted, bring the mixture to the boil. Without stirring, allow the mixture to cook at a slow rolling boil for about 10 minutes, or until it reaches the soft-ball stage (114ºC/238ºF).
  5. Stir in the chopped chocolate, vanilla extract and salt.
  6. Pour about one-third of the chocolate fudge mixture in to the prepared baking tin. Sprinkle with half of the cherries, marshmallows and walnuts. Cover with another third of the chocolate fudge.
  7. Place a piece of baking parchment over the fudge and press down firmly with your hands. Set aside to cool. This could take up to 8 hours.
  8. When ready to serve, lift the fudge up out of the tin by holding the sides of the clingfilm and transfer to a chopping board. Cut 1cm slices and serve. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

2013 – The year of the Lucy

2013 is going to be a good year for me, there are so many exciting things due to happen over the next few months which will allow Lucy to thrive this year!!

Now that I’ve overcome my fear of facing the world in all my prettiness it has given me the strength to get my life in order and be who I want to be on a daily basis.

So 2013 is going to be a year of personal growth, but also it will be about new business ventures and exciting travel plans!!

There are still lots of scary things to be dealt with this year too, but some of those are important things in order to move on and get my new life underway!! x

With 2012 finally behind me, the worst and loneliest year of my life so far, I step in to 2013 with many new friends and a thirst to make many more, this will be my year!!

Ness Bag

One item that will be with me as I face the year ahead, is this extremely cute new handbag that my wonderful sister gave me for Christmas, isn’t it just amazing?

It has owls on it!!!! OMG!!!! xxx

I’m totally in love with it and I’m currently working on lots of outfits that will coordinate to give me more opportunities to have my bag by my side as I get out and about!!

I love that it’s a satchel style bag, Ness call it the beatrix owl bag. It is just so practical and yet so pretty at the same time x

Here are some photos of it to make you all very jealous……….heehee xx

Ness bag

So here is to 2013, a fun and life changing year to be grasped with both hands and enjoyed to the fullest!!

Ness bag

What plans do you have for this year?

Are they huge, like mine?

I’d love to know xx

My Panto family :o) x

What a beautiful bunch of people xx

I had the joy of taking photos again this year of the Panto my sister was Directing, which this year was Aladdin!!

My Brother in law was playing the emperor this year and many of my friends also had roles on the stage and many were helping backstage in different ways to make it all run smoothly x

It was a brilliant show, well executed by everyone involved x 100 times better than last year, which was pretty amazing at the time x

I had a great weekend hanging out with these lovely people, seeing both performances on the Saturday and then dancing the night away at the after show party.

It’s funny to think that last year at the after show party I was to shy to speak to anyone and just sat in a corner for the whole evening and was glad to get home when it finished!! To this year, I was up dancing most of the night, mingling amongst many that I consider very close friends now and ready to go on to the after show party’s, party!!! It seems like such a short time, yet an age in so many others for there to be such a transformation in me!! But thanks to the unconditional acceptance that I have received there my confidence has come on so much x

But I’m thankful that in such a small village in the north of Scotland I have so many accepting friends, whom I love hanging out with and getting to know better

I can’t wait to catch up with them all again at new year  xx

Here’s a few of my favourite photos from the show:

And finally a little Gangnam style dancing to finish it off!!

I look forward to seeing what they do next year!! x

Have any of you seen a panto this year?

Oh no you haven’t!!!! ;p

Just hanging out!

Sorry that it has been a couple of weeks since my last post, but I’ve been really, really busy with Tearoom plans and haven’t had the energy or time to produce anything for you all!! There has been some really exciting developments for me, with a possible investor/partner which will mean I can achieve so much more of my dream! And if it all comes together, I’ll have someone else to share the responsibility with and possibly take on some of the stress of getting everything organised too xx So exciting times!! x

I don’t often get the chance to just sit and enjoy a film or watch television these days, but a few evenings ago I found myself with the opportunity to just chill out, with a cup (or two) of tea and a couple of  my new DVD’s which I’ve wanted to watch for a long time.  Heavenly bliss xx

And as I may have mentioned once or twice in recent blogs, I’ve been trying to work on my everyday look, to find a more natural, yet still feminine look to present to the world. It’s been about working on my hair, makeup and clothes to find the right combination to create the correct illusion that I want, not easy but a challenge that I enjoy. It’s also been about working on the time that it takes me to get readying in the morning whilst still achieving the desired look. whilst keeping to a time scale that doesn’t eat in to my day to much. So I’ve been honing my skills and timing my self in an attempt to improve, with a little bit of success so far!! But I’still need to work on it for a while yet, heehee x

What I have found in reality is that I am a girl who likes a reasonable amount of makeup to feel presentable in a day, but I’m just able to wear a lot lighter foundations than before, due to my Laser hair removal, which just means that it feels much nicer to wear and no longer feels like if I move my face that I might crack …….haha x

I apologise for the slippers, but that evening was just about comfort and being able to curl up in my armchair to relax and be cosy xx One of my friends who has been giving me advice asked me to try and do a more natural photo shoot, so I thought as I was just curling up on the sofa it may be a more relaxed look for her!! x I hope it worked?

What do you think? Do I look quite natural yet?

What could I still work on?

And what do you do when you have an evening free? x

Have a great weekend……mwah x
